...are perfectly valid: many would say also that they are correct.
This, though, is the more curious comment in your post (especially from a former moderator):
"I know the forum's policy about prices, I respect it, but I think it's a mistake".
Whether or not you happen to think it is a mistake it is, as you say, this forum's policy. Others happen to think that this forum's policy is a good policy, and they respect it. They respect it by observing it. Observing the policy is the 'price' of participating on the forum; the 'price' of remaining on the forum. It is a very small price to pay - a very small courtesy to pay - for the shared bonhomie amongst like-minded people.
What does it say about a guest on the forum (for we are all guests) that they know this forum's policy but choose not to respect it? What does it say about their respect for the other participants, all of whom know the policy and choose to observe it out of courtesy and respect for each other?
Those who do not like the policy - who wish to flaunt it, or deliberately and repeatedly breach it - have their options. They may find other forums with a different policy; they may find forums where where their disdain for policy is tolerated; they may start their own forums. They are not compelled to remain here, where the policies are few, but well-known and well-accepted.
This, sadly, is not a new discussion that you now come in to. Indeed, it is a surprise that we on the forum are still having this discussion - yet again. The Chroll has had its little win. Thank you, though, for your opinion. On watches.
Cheers,
pplater.
