Well J*D holds a special place in my heart

I own three different pieces currently and I am always looking out for another one.

The quality of the SW is very good...but it took sometime to get there because there were some quality control issues when they first were released in Stainless steel.

Not to make excuses for J*D but they were in a rush to get the model out (since they were highly anticipated) and the case was very difficult to manufacture.  The SW line is the "sport" companion to their iconic Grande Seconde models.

Take a look at the macro pics below.  These were taken by Anthony Tsai who owned one of the first J*D SW here in the USA.

I've examined the rose gold model (by the way it is not a new release) and it is much more of a luxurious watch that the stainless steel version.  If you are comfortable with wearing a large, heavy, gold sports watch then it is a good choice.  Just be ready to clean between all those amazing nooks and crannies on the case! smile

As for your last question, I'll give you my personal take since I was the last moderator for the J*D forum before it was closed.   The closure of the J*D forum was, in my opinion, due to the lack of communication from the brand.  There was very little flow of information and as a result it was difficult to keep a community passionate when the same topics were discussed.  For awhile I think Mr. Emch (previous J*D CEO) was tired but I am glad he has found his passion again with RJ.  Now I think J*D is still in a bit of a flux with the passing of Mr. Hayek Sr. (who took over after Mr. Emch resigned) and the position was handed over the Mr. Marc Hayek.

I hope J*D regains its momentum.  It has a new manfactory under construction.  There was a new microrotor movement planned ( and should be released this year at Basel).  Mr. Hayek has some work to do.

The J*D community started on ThePuristS, continued here at PuristSPro, and despite the forum closure still has a strong following on our site.  I hope J*D will  recognize this and appreciate the community here in the future.

I would love to see your new J*D gold SW smile  I doubt you will regret your purchase if you move forward!

Warmest regards, Mike
