SIHH Novelties Preview at AP Boutique, Paris

 By: foversta : March 18th, 2011-15:43
I found it perfect so I use the same title than Goh ! But I change the city: yesterday in Paris, the AP Boutique organized an event to present the 2011 SIHH novelties to its customers. Actually, there were two surprises: the first one was the wide range o...

Thanks for the preview

I must say that my preference goes to the Ceramics and Forged Carbon ROO. That is definitly a watch I could go for. Best regards, George

Thanks George.

As I said, for me too, my fav ROO was the Ceremics & Forged Carbon one. Fx

Wow...

Audemars Piguet SIHH 2011 Novelties in Ulaan Bator?

 By: MTF : March 21st, 2011-02:53
FrX I have no knowledge of where Audemars Piguet SIHH 2011 novelties will be shown next but I'm guessing Ulaan Bator only because I can't pronounce Ulaan Baatar, which is the correct name! MTF

Great report but...

the wrist photos should be taken from a greater distance to properly gauge the appearance of the watch on the wrist. When they are taken as close as they are the visual is lost, to me! Thank you for the report, Jeff

You are absolutely right Jeff

The trouble I faced was light: the pictures were not very good when I took them from a greater distance... When I am able to do it, I try to give a better overall view. Your remark is totally right. Fr.Xavier

Flawless line-up, as usual.

I always appreciate Jules Audemars line which is often underappreciated. Nice new models with nice calibars. Looking forward to seeing it in person in the near future. About the ROO.... Is it ever going to stop getting bigger? One day, you have to be all ...

Thanks Ken !

So the standard size is now 44mm for the ROO... I was not shocked by this size. But we reach the limit I believe. Special watches like the Legacy have different stories because excessive style is a bit a part of their DNA... Fr.Xavier

the Lecacy is just perfect, IMHO

i love the old school ROO style lugs...and very intelligent mix of materials, and stealthy look....not loud like the Grand Prix. best, Horo

Thanks Horo.

Like you I was more seduced by the Legacy than by the Grand Prix. But they are quite different watches. Fx

Great Post!

Thanks for the awesome narrative and descriptive photos! I love that Millenary 4101! It is now available in USA? Thanks. RDS

I believe it is a bit too soon for the moment.

 By: foversta : March 20th, 2011-09:56
Maybe it will be available at the second half of the year, my wish is that the wait won't be as long as for the RO Skeleton. Fx

Thanks for your report

Great post, I agree...

With your opinion on the Jules Audemars, it seems that it is lacking something. Sometimes simplicity is taken too far in my opinion. For me, the Offshores and most of all the Legacy are the real stars.

About the Jules Audemars...

First of all, thanks for your comments. In fact, I was speaking about the selfwinding because, IMHO, for example, the Moonphase combines the elegancy of the collection with a subtle touch of spice thanks to the moonphases display: I love this one. Fr.Xavi...

Agree again

Its amazing what adding a few subdials can do to the overall impression of a watch. It gives it a bit of life that the one in the main post is lacking. At least thats what I think.

Great post!

Thanks for the report. It must have been great to meet a legend like papi. You are a lucky guy! Nice pics too, I think that the Arnold watch was too big though, your hand looked like a Childs hand in that thing! Keep the good posts comming buddy. Thanks S...

Arnold legacy

What do you think of the Arnold Legacy? I've heard its not a photogenic timepiece. Some of friends whom seen it in person said it looks much better than in photos.
