My collection and current status

With everybody getting their drop dead gorgeous and absolutely stunning new pieces I felt I had to mitigate my jealous ego by posting something.

Ever since aquiring my first AP in London in september, I have been stalking the net looking for books and whatever I can get my hands on.
As of now I possess four AP collection books for 2016 to 2019. They look marvelous in the bookshelfs surrounding the television.
I have also the new AP 20th Century Complicated Wristwatches, and recently a I was able to get my hands on a used edition of the AP Master Watchmaker Since 1875 by François Chaille.
I have read the historic books but I definitely need to read them a few more times as to make the history, models and watchmaking techniques stick.

Here are some pictures of the gang and watch together.

There is something I must ask this AP forum.
Recently I found out that my SA has moved on to other ventures from the Sloane Street boutique in London.
I did not get any message, which I guess is normal as I have only bought one piece from that establishment.
However, I do wonder how to approach things going forward?

I remember telling him that I would never part with my watch and I wanted to make a point by returning with the piece to assure him that I am not in this to earn money by flipping it. I did get the impression that he believed me. In some way in thought this scenario would make me a more desirable buyer as I am sure they are aware that there are people buying only to feed the grey market.

He did write down the pieces I am interested in and now I worry that my wish list is like a tear in the rain(had to put in a Bladerunner quote, sorry).

And with my SA left for greener pastures, I only have the boutique managers contact info - should I talk to her going forward?
I do remember the name of the other SA, but I do not have her contact information.

Truth be told, I do not want to bother the manager all that much as to keep my first impression.
I must mention that I did send her a happy Christmas/new years email which she politely replied that she hopes to have the pleasure to meet again and that she is looking forward to our coffee next time I am in London.

To end I must apologize for my english, and I must beg pardon for my tedious paragraphs about my situation as I do have a severe condition of AP withdrawal!
Thank you for reading and I wish you all get the piece(s) you desire this year!

I will take your suggestion to heart mate, thank you! In regards to how the relationship works for non VIPs, I totally agree with you. I guess its part of making the brand more exclusive, which I do understand, however it makes our watchcollecting lifes t...

And I appreciate how you dive into this wonderful topic and educate yourself. Many congrats also for your beautiful AP. But … please … you are the customer and not a supplicant! It can't be that you think about whether you write to the brand manager or no...

Thank you Thomas

You tell no lies - the watch world entered this sphere probably a long time before I became interested. It was a strange ordeal. I was basically interviewed, and I am certain that I would not have gotten a watch if she did not find me somewhat interesting...

I think you should definitely have no fear reaching out to the boutique manager and share that your SA left and you would like to know who you can continue your journey with AP. Of course sending a wrist shot always helps add to the charm and proof of you...

We have to stop begging brand to sell us their stuff. Don’t get me wrong, was just like you. Would love to own a 50th anniversary piece, but got really tired begging them. Was getting anywhere haha. Then you see all this pieces on the grey market and its ...

Thank you for replying with your thoughts on the matter!

I have considered the grey market several times but Ive decided against it, but a 50th piece would be amazing - however I do not believe I will ever get one, and I have not really asked them for one either, though I probably should. I only have an Offshor...

Big congratulations on your AP!

The books looks right at home in the shelves around the tv, but I have actually read the textbook pieces(!) I do need to read them again as history was never my strong suit, and I must admit I like reading about all of these technicals terms and minute de...
