but obviously this watch is meant to be worn and not taken off the wrist
so they thought that quick date function
will be obsolete

Yes, that is the biggest flaw of the original and the re edition.
I agree that changing the date, with this angular crown, and the no quick date setting is a real pain... But what a charm! Nicolas

still a pain compared to a quickset system, but better than having to wind 24 hrs for 1 date change....

I've left it on a wrong date quite some times now. Maybe have to get winder for it because it sort of annoys me if the date is off. But at the moment I'm without the watch because it's still at AP being repaired :-(( I am thinking about getting it a perso...
Jed, how do you use the date set when this watch does not hack?
Setting from 10pm to 2am back and forth will ruin a non hack balance. I do not understand this? Thanks for your insight Best Joe
I can't help with the explanation, but
the 10-2 back and forth is actually described in the manual for the watch as an appropriate means of setting the date, as I recall. Perhaps someone more technically familiar with the 2121 movement than I will jump in. Best, CaliforniaJed
