Founded in 1992, After-school All-Stars is a national organization that provides comprehensive after school and summer programs for at-risk children in thirteen cities throughout the country.  Through donated funds, ASAS provides engaging activities to nearly 80,000 kids annually.  The programs are designed to improve the participants’ lives by incorporating academic support, enrichment, and health & physical fitness. The NY Chapter was established in 1996 and has served thousands of New York’s neediest children.

The event was made possible by the generosity of co-chairs Dan Fireman and Andrew Spellman, and honored two individuals who have supported the charity for over a decade.

Francois-Henry Bennahmias, President and CEO of Audemars Piguet North America was honored for his personal commitment and Audemars Piguet’s corporate support of ASAS, having been responsible for raising over $8 million for the organization through the creation of limited edition watch lines and special events.

“Our entire U.S. charitable efforts started with Governor Schwarzenegger and After-School All-Stars and this relationship has undoubtedly been the inspiration for our never-ending commitment to always giving back,” said Francois-Henry Bennahmias.  “After a decade of working together and as a brand still in the hands of the original founding family, Audemars Piguet considers After-School All-Stars a member of this family.  We are proud and humbled by the work we have done to make a difference in the lives of so many children.”

Mary Perry , President of the New York Chapter, was honored for her outstanding service and leadership of the programs which began with her position as a member of the New York City Sports Commission throughout the Giuliani administration.  She has been a member of the ASAS New York board since 1997 and became its President in 2007.

“Being able to give back to these amazing children is so rewarding for me,” said Mary Perry.  “I hold this charity dear in my heart. If my hard work helps to improve the life of even one child, it is absolutely worth it.”

All of the net proceeds will benefit the organization and help to maintain these much-needed programs.
