Part IV - Conclusions and Observations
Jun 20, 2013,11:56 AM
If you have made it this far with the reports, I hope you have attained a strong understanding of Audemars Piguet's position and offerings for 2013.
Certainly, the new novelties presented this year uphold and execute the stated goals. The complicated models, highlighted by the (3) 3-piece Royal Oak Offshore Grande Complication editions, are the epitome of haute horlogerie. The women's collection has been successfully refreshed and bolstered with the new models.
Audemars Piguet has always blazed their own path and done things their own way. The foundation for the future has never been stronger. Given the multitude of incredible timepieces launched in recent years, it is hard to imagine that the best is yet to come, but I fully believe that is the case. The ownership experience continues to be refined and improved; the AP Family grows larger with each new owner. We're all on a terrific train here, and the ride will continue to please and surprise.
The SIHH experience itself is very unique. AP's booth and presentation are beyond professional. In their typical fashion, it is readily apparent every detail has been well considered and thought through.
Very classy facade to the AP display:
Some incredible watches were visible from outside the AP room. The large space had an exterior corner, and the displays continued on both sides.
A watchmaker occupied the entrance to the space, answering questions and displaying pieces for the guests:
I have to offer a very special thanks to AP Retail Director Jasmine Bapic. Jasmine went above and beyond just showing me the new novelties, and spent a substantial amount of time answering all of my questions. The pace behind the scenes at SIHH is very fast, and despite being pulled in numerous directions, Jasmine made sure PuristSPro received everything we needed. She is a tremendous asset to Audemars Piguet, and to all of us.
She even managed to pull a MichaelC dream piece....
Despite the high security everywhere, you do run into an unsavory character every now and then ;-)
Geneva of course is the ultimate backdrop for this incredible showcase of the world's finest watchmakers. It is certainly high on my list for a Family outing in the future.
Thank you all for your continued participation and interest here at PuristSPro. I hope you have enjoyed our collective coverage of all things Audemars Piguet at the 2013 Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie!
