On Sunday January 27th, Audemars Piguet Ambassador Novak Djokovic became the first man in the history of professional tennis to win three consecutive Australian Open titles when he beat Andy Murray in the final in four physically demanding sets: 6-7 (2), 7-6 (3), 6-3, 6-2.

makes history with third consecutive Australian Open win

Djokovic has won four of his six major titles at Melbourne Park, where he is now unbeaten in 21 matches. Nine other men had won back-to-back titles in Australia over 45 years, but none were able to claim three in a row.

With the world's best two defensive players on opposite sides of the net, it took nearly three hours for either player to break serve, and then only when Djokovic produced perhaps the best point of the match to expose a rare soft spot in Murray's resolve. The win consolidated Djokovic's position as the No. 1-ranked player in the world.

Commenting on his win Novak said: "I'm just trying to play every game with 100% of devotion, love, passion but also fun. I always try to embrace every moment and enjoy it as much as possible".

A great sportsman of our time characterised by outstanding charisma, mastery and artistry, Novak Djokovic's extraordinary break-through performances embody Audemars Piguet's philosophy, "To break the rules, you must first master them".
