Over the years, I have tried a few different colored gold watches in my collection. Currently, I do not own a colored gold watch. The closest I came to a keeper was AP's Royal Oak reference 15300. Listed as a 39mm case, I always found this Royal Oak very ...

The nicest incarnation of the RO in gold in my opinion...

I much rather prefer this to the 15202 in gold that is out there (not sure the ref.), but for me this watch really does the trick. Saw it in person 2 weeks ago in Venice and was just taken aback by how beatuiful it is... your comments are spot on! Thanks ...

It was a pleasure to recall it and write about it

The case size is so nice. It feels much more robust than a 15202 as you know. Of course, that is part of the charm of the Jumbo - the sublime feel on the wrist. A place for each within a nice collection, IMO.

Beautiful, but the 15202OR...

...is even nicer IMHO, for four reasons: 1) I don't like a leather strap on a RO, as the bracelet is an essential part of the watch 2) the thinness makes the ultra-thin in rose gold not bling at all, just awesome and incredibly elegant 3) the color match ...

I agree with your comments.

I much prefer the RG Royal Oak with the amazing AP links wrapping around my wrist. Best, JerryW

Ahem... not too surprised about that ;-)

You really have to try on both of these 39mm Royal Oaks to feel the difference. As I just replied above to ALB, the 15300 possesses a robust feeling that the Jumbo does not. But then, the Jumbo offers its own unique and as we both wrote separately "sublim...

what about the gold as a base material? Don't get me wrong: I love the rose gold / blue tapisserie combo! But doesn't the gold case-leather strap makes more sense as a combo? As it is hinting more towards a dress watch due to the material? (never saw it l...

and can't agree with you more on your evaluation on this rose gold beauty. 39mm is my favorite size for RO. AP's rose gold simply elevates the 15300 to another level :)

Thanks Wayne.

Sorry for my delayed reply. I also agree about the 39mm case. At least on my wrist, it leaves me wanting nothing more.
