A. Lange & Söhne: A collaboration with Wempe for its 125th anniversary in 2003

Limited to 125 pieces (50 platinum), with fully hand engraved 3/4 plate. These types of quirky limited editions from 20 years ago are my favourite Lange watches.

A. Lange & Söhne: Yes, that’s right, the pushers activate the day and week

There are no corrector pins and therefore no need for a stylus. I am also glad they did not include a date function, since this watch was exclusive to the local market and not designed to appease international collectors. If they had included a date, I think it would have required a significant rede

A. Lange & Söhne: A remarkable early special edition

I have this watch in the rose gold edition, and once you have it in your hands, none of the criticisms matter. On the dial side, the 38.5mm size is the perfectly proportioned sweet spot. Better than the 36mm and 40mm 1815s. On the back, unlike in the pictures, in reality the movement does not look s

A. Lange & Söhne: Technical improvements perhaps?

For me, a step towards perfection would be aligning the date wheels on the same plane.

Audemars Piguet: I think they just moved the date window rather than the date?

Audemars Piguet: They have inserted an extra plate in the movement to achieve the dial reconfiguration

Notice how the 42mm still has a date magnification window whereas the 43mm range doesn't need it? I am guessing it's because the extra plate in the 42mm model means the date is now recessed too deeply and needs a magnifier.

Audemars Piguet: Great find!

Hello OCAT. I recall this LE series was released to commemorate the handover of Hong Kong from Britain to China. There were 100 in stainless steel, 30 in rose gold, 20 in yellow gold and 10 in pink gold with diamond set. In addition, there were 50 in SS with leather strap. I think there were also 50

Audemars Piguet: AP and Vaucher

My understanding is AP uses the Vaucher base cal. 3002 on its new 34mm ROs, and has exclusive customisations done to it.

Audemars Piguet: Technically the square indices indicate precious metal, since this model came in WG, YG and RG variants.

They also did a limited edition variant in platinum and steel, which has the square indices.

Audemars Piguet: Looks like a 26022BC with aftermarket bracelet

I have this model, but with the original factory strap in black. Great watch with a nice solid and weighty feel.
