Good question

I got hooked on the 5441 and 5251 when I started collecting 25 years ago. I love the simplicity and elegance of the dial, the IWC spelled out in cursive, and the display back showing the gorgeous manual wind movement. A traditional classy watch in the larger case just does it for me. Here’s an old article with more info on the reference:

Thank you. I originally had the rose gold. 15 or so years ago, I found the collectors’ set in all three metals in Germany and pulled the trigger! Still the classiest and most iconic watch(es), IMHO.

Sunny IWC😎 Happy New Year.

While the current trend en vogue seems to be going back to 36mm diameter or so, the history of the Portuguese, where the buyers wanted IWC to make a wristwatch the size of a pocket watch, makes me so happy that this timeless classic is 42mm!

I can only agree.
