Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Limited Edition LeBron James launch event

 By: MichaelC : September 29th, 2013-20:48
On Friday September 27th in Miami, Florida, Audemars Piguet and LeBron James together launched a new limited edition timepiece bearing the legendary athlete's name. The launch event was held at the top floor of 11 11 Lincoln Road in South Beach. It began ...

Royal Oak Offshore Limited Edition Lebron James timepiece

 By: MichaelC : September 29th, 2013-21:02
The day after the Lebron James launch event, I made my way to the new AP Bal Harbour Boutique. While still located in the Bal Harbour Shops, the location has moved and the boutique is the very first to receive AP's new design criteria. We will discuss the...

Michael, thanks a lot ...

for that well written and balanced report. The watch shows some very nice details and especially the additional "rubber" strap looks amazing. It´s not my style, but I can adore it for what it is. Oliver

You hit it on the head Oliver -

You "adore it for what it is". This is a watch where we need to consider the reasons why and how it was designed to understand the end result. And I fully agree with you.

Thank you, Michael!

I am sure you had a great time at the unveiling. The watch itself is really cool! I like the throwback sub dial look reminiscing of earlier Offshores, as well as the notched case. (I think I should come clean that the EOD is my favorite Offshore, and thus...

I honed in on those subdials right away.

I LOVE them, and really hope we see them revisited on another watch. The EOD is a great choice, BTW :-)

Thank you Michael on such an excellent report...

The most detailed and honest review of the new LE I've ever read so far! I share the same observation, and dislike, about the placement of the "Audemars Piguet" wording on the dial, as well as the negative space beside the date aperture which throws the d...

I think in person you will like the blue.

 By: MichaelC : October 1st, 2013-11:12
I had the watch in hand for a short while at the boutique and the blue really looked good the more I examined it. The few issues I raised with the watch would not keep me from purchasing it if I were in the market. And the truth is, there is probably some...

Really outstanding report

Michael, you pointed out so many fine details that I did not see at first glance. Your pictures demonstrate them perfectly. AP put a lot of effort in creating this LE.

Thanks a lot D-Star. I was hoping to convey exactly what you state.

I lot of though and design went into this watch. I had to handle the piece up close to appreciate and realize all of the new details. The inner bezel is really something with that discrete white outline.

This is actually a good looking piece! Great write up Michael

I'm glad to see you were at the unveiling & I want to hear the audio feed!! Lol

Thanks my good Friend!

Love seeing you here. I owe you a call to catch up. I met a great gentleman from your hometown, I have to get that way one of these days.

Thanks for the great coverage report Michael!

Love your commentary and opinions as well as the design insights by LeBron. The colors of this piece still seem a little weird to me but they are warming up to me. I'm not used to seeing a pink gold case with titanium bezel combination. It's definitely a ...

Thanks for your remarks Anthony.

You are correct about the diamonds; they're well placed and not too flashy. And it does add interest for sure, and is appropriate for LBJ's personality and style. When you see this watch in person, I think you will find the materials combinations quite cl...

Thanks for the report on the LBJ LE

Thanks for the report on the ROO LBJ launch event. I agree with you on the case and strap, it was good to see AP using the old school notched case but don't like the rigid strap connection piece. I think it would help fit better on smaller wrists. Regards...

I hope we see this very case again real soon.

Sans the notched straps ;-)

Great report Michael!

Great report on LBJ's event and fantastic LBJ's piece review. You are doing fabulous on that and becoming a pro!! :))

I appreciate your kind words RTO.

I do my best to share my real feelings with the coverage. As we all have different personal tastes, sometimes folks will agree and sometimes they won't. But we can always speak honestly about it here. Wish I could have seen you there, my Friend.

Excellent report

I suppose I could send the video I made to you... you will recognize the unsavory remarks!

What an event!

Thanks for sharing it with us Michael. :)

AP really caters their events for each timepiece / partnership

They certainly struck a cord in South Beach with everyone who attended.

So glad you like my watch, Michael! Didn't even notice you took that picture of me.

Admittedly, the good ol' Montoya of titanium got solid attention.
