Going from Green to the Blues

May 13, 2024,10:27 AM

My series on green houses was very popular, it seems, and since Blue is a favorite color of many, I thought there must be plenty of blue houses. But it is not so easy to find them, at least where we live. Of course when I am looking at houses there are often big blue chunks of steel and glass blocking the view, so I was distracted into taking a few pictures of them while searching for the houses. May I present a few?

HOUSES FIRST

I decided to stick to blue or white/gray houses with predominantly blue tones. Like this one (the Bentley in front didn't hurt).

With early Range Rover.

Tiny beach cottages all in a row with lovely blue Chevy pickup in front make a good image, at least to me!

At the end of a cul-de-sac.

Unusual combination of blue and green. The green Range Rover should be parked here ...

Wow the red shutters really contrast against the light blue. Does this roof peak facing us seem a bit high and out of proportion?

I could easily live in this house (but where's the garage?)

It's on the greenish end of the spectrum but my wife says it's blue enough for her.

Definitely blue and the garages are in the back on the alley, surrounded by a matching blue and white fence.

Deli Mustard door (not Grey Poupon) against blue makes a statement

White but strong blue tones in the trim (and sky) make me include this one.

This is definitely blue and took many gallons of paint too.

I spotted this apartment complex and felt it had to be in the story. I think they used all the blue pigment available to get this completely saturated color!

We finish up the houses with this ... Not from yesterday's search but still a beautiful shade of blue ... this is a bed and breakfast where we stayed for a family reunion, up near Santa Barbara.

I think I will put the vehicles in a second file, so here's a teaser.

Please continue in Part 2 below.

Here's the back of the Corvette. This car belongs to a teen-age kid who used to live on our street. His father got in trouble for mailing "controlled substances" and the family's home was sold and they moved away. My wife and some of the other moms on the...

All the houses look very well cared for, but I'm sure there are some at the ooposite end of the spectrum just like anywhere else. My mom and dad were in San Diego for a while after dad got back from Korea. They considered staying but mom wanted to be clos...

Yes, you are correct. I generally avoid photographing the problems, but I made an exception after reading your post. Here are a few scenes on the same theme -- first, a combination blue house and vehicle. This one has seen better days. Likewise, abandoned...

A couple have "potential" and a couple there is no hope for. The GMC pickup is just about bigger that than the house it sits next to. Keep up the amazing work!!

The beach house?

with the blue Chevy truck in front of it!

I think I once lived in that apartment complex, long ago.

It was called Point Loma Towers.
